Afrobeats Music Festival

This project is a reflection of my love for Afrobeats music. The project brief discussed that each brand needed a color palette, logo, mascot and typography selection. These are displayed on a variety of mockups. In the development of the Afrobeats music festival brand identity project, I aimed to capture the essence of the genre's vibrancy and cultural richness. The logo design reflects dynamic rhythms and energy, incorporating fluid shapes that symbolize movement and connection within the community.

To create a color palette that resonates with the spirit of Afrobeats, I explored a range of colorful inspirations sourced from traditional African textiles, modern urban art, and diverse visual elements found in the music scene. The chosen colors are bold and energetic, representing joy, life, and celebration. This careful curation results in a cohesive visual identity that not only represents the festival's mission but also invites audiences to engage with and experience the lively atmosphere of Afrobeats music.

Mockups with logo

Mockups featuring the mascot were created with great care and attention. During my thorough research into Afrobeats music and its vibrant culture, I discovered that the conga drum is an essential instrument often utilized in various performances. As a creative touch, I decided to take a Rastafarian hat and place it atop the conga drum, blending these elements to celebrate both the music and the rich cultural traditions associated with it.

Moodboard that inspired this brand identity

This is my first iteration of the logo design for the Afrobeats Music Festival, showcasing the vibrant energy and cultural richness that the festival represents.

This is the second design version, created after I traced it in Adobe Illustrator and added colors that represent the lively energy and spirit of Afrobeats music and culture.
